Greetings from another sunny day in Swindon!

 

The children settled well into their bedrooms last night and slept the whole night through. We woke them up with some 'Drop-off- Disco' favourites (yep, I've bought the speakers here too!

 

After a hearty full English breakfast this morning, the children spent the day canoeing, lazer-tagging and abseiling. Johnny, our group-leader has had nothing but wonderful things to say about our children. They have been beautifully behaved and thrown themselves into every activity. They certainly put the 'B' in BIRDS!

 

Despite a cool breeze, the children have sun kissed cheeks - we have lotioned them up but  we still have some pink noses! 

 

We are off to a Game Show this evening but it's clear the children are pooped. There were some very tired eyes at the dinner table, so I think most of them won't make it past 9.30pm tonight.

 

All children are safe, happy and healthy. 

 

They are looking forward to telling you all about it tomorrow.

Day 1 Blog

43 incredibly excited children have arrived at Liddington! We have already zip-wired, problem solved and some of the most brave have conquered the Giant swing - and when I say giant, I mean GIANT!

 

All children are happy and content with their allocated rooms. As I type the children are unpacking suitcases, trying out the shower (yep, you heard right, 10 year olds washing!).and getting up to all sorts of mischief - all age appropriate of course and all very much part of the excitement of their first residential.

 

The children were excellent in the dining hall, they were horrified with the behaviour of other schools! Food was delicious and the children were ravenous by the time they got there.

 

We are off now to the campfire - we've arranged for hot chocolate and cakes for Eid when they return. 

 

We will bring you another update tomorrow night around the same time.

Rest assured, the children are safe, happy and having a fantastic time already!
